Tamiya 1/48 Dornier Do335A Pfeil
The Dornier Do335 Pfeil (Arrow) was one of the most unusual fighters of the Third Reich. This multi purpose aircraft was planned to be the Luftwaffe's next weapon in the skies over Europe. The layout of the Do335, with its twin engines arranged in tandem one pushing while the other pulled and its cross shaped tail provided a truly unique silhouette. Two 1,750HP Daimler Benz DB603 engines allowed for a top speed of 760kn/hr., yet the sleek design ensured maneuverability on par with single prop aircraft. The first prototype flew in September of 1943 with the first pre-production model flying in June 1944. Like many other advanced German designs the Do335 came too late in the war to ever see series production or combat service.
Tamiya's 1/48 series models are among the finest kits on the market today, their level of fit, finish and detail is second to none.
