Description
The Sikorsky SH-60B Seahawk belongs to one of the most successful series of helicopters in the world, the Sikorsky S-70 with the military designation H-60.
The SH-60B Seahawk has been in use since 1983. Under the fuselage the helicopter carries a radar pod with a Texas Instruments AN/APS 0124 search radar and a towed array for detecting submarines. For this type of mission the SH-60B can be armed with up to three type Mk.46 torpedoes. A particular external feature of the SH-60B is the dunking device for the sonobuoys used in acoustic underwater searches.
