During the early phases of WWII the German Ju87 Stuka was one of the most feared aerial weapons and it played a large role in the German Army's blitzkreig through Poland and western Europe. After the it's failure in the Battle of Britain the Ju87 was redesigned to be more aerodynamic, the new version being the Ju87D. The Ju87G was essentially a D-model fitted with underwing cannons which were highly effective against Soviet armour
