About Me

Recently retired and enjoying life. Started making models before I was ten years old and started taking it seriously when I first bought a copy of Airfix magazine (1967?) which featured the RAF version of the P38 Lightning by the late great AW Hall. There was a lull for about 10 years during my 30s and 40s and even tried ship modelling for a while. However I saw the light and returned to aircraft although this time in the larger scale of 1/48 which is easier on the eyes rather than 1/72.
I only build WWII RAF types but in the past have tried almost everything. I enjoy the research as much as the building.
At the moment my favourite paints for airbrushing are White Ensign although tinlets including humbrol ones seem to have a shelf life issue so I am seriously considering Model Master for their screw tops.
